Hi, as an offline user it is a little frustrating not being in control as much as someone with connected WiFi, especially since my allotment where my greenhouse is rather a long way away. Looking ahead would it be possible to get control units that you could fit a sim only data card to, so you could connect to the control unit remotely? There are cheap data bundles available that would make it affordable.
The recommendation here at the moment is to get a 3G/4G dongle, so that you can then set up the system in online mode. We have a user with their kit on an allotment who does this. I'm not sure how it's powered though, you would need a separate power system as the control box won't power the dongle as well as pumping etc.
It could be a solar powered off grid router, much like this: link
