Hi there
My Watermate Pro after having got over the low water alarm issue will now only pump for 5 seconds no matter how long it’s programmed to do. Happens manually and auto from button on the box and app. For both zone 1 and 2.
Any ideas?

Hi GBK,

You don't say if its a solar or mains unit, if solar is the battery indicator showing green?

Hi GBK - yes, we are getting notifications that your pump is using too much power so it is shutting down permaturely to prevent damage to the circuits in the control box.

This usually indicates a pump bearing failure or water ingress. Read more here: link

Hi again - looking further into your data, it might be that your control unit is inaccurately measuring the pump power. We'll update the firmware to allow you to disable the overcurrent protection and see how that goes. We'll do that today, and let you know when to try again.

Hi GBK - your box will update to this firmware [2023062100] in the next half hour, after which you can go to the device control panel and turn off the pump overcurrent feature. If your pump is genuinely failing, this risks blowing the control box fuse ( which is replaceable ), but I suspect your pump is OK.

That’s done the trick Chris

Hi i am having exactly the same symptoms as GBK including the initial false low water alarm . I hope its ok to post a reply here and not create a new topic I am currently on firmware 2023062702 Is the setting you refer to labelled

Pump fault shutdown
Turn off pump with high current drain.

If so would it be safe for me to also try turning this setting off ? I do not wish to damage the pump as its only been in use for three months
Kind Regards
Ian

Hi Ian - yes go ahead, you can turn off the setting:
"Pump fault shutdown" = off
This was a cautious attempt at firmware shutdown with a pump fault that works most of the time but it seems that a batch of boxes around IDs 850-950 might be misreading the pump current and shutting down when there is no fault.

Hi Chris thank you for the quick reply i can confirm after switching this setting off both zones worked perfectly for 30 sec bursts i will extend the period over the next few days but initial response is good and pump sounds ok
Thank you

Hi Chris, i have tried more variations and although removing the pump shutdown allows the pump to run for the allotted time the pump seems to run ok for first 10 secs then laboured for the remaining 20 secs but continues to pump.
I am also getting the pump alert messages. I am unsure how to continue now. If the messages are true ( previous low water ones were fake ) then am i doing more harm to the pump?
Is there a way to view the logs ? I find no options on the app or control settings.
The pump seems to work better with zone 1 ( mainly sprayers ) than with zone 2 ( mainly drippers ).
Best Regards
Ian

Hi there,
I have the same symptoms with my new installation, ie 5 seconds pump time maximum, please can you review & update my firmware?
Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve - I've updated your firmware so you can now turn off the shutdown feature.
Ian - The pro pump will run until it hits pressure cut-off then stop until the pressure drops, then start again ( intended ), which can sometimes indicate a blockage ( check the filter in the valves ). The mini pump won't do this, it will just keep spinning. A mini pump that is about to fail will sound inconsistent in revs ... but if you are getting good performance with one zone and not the other, it's likely a blockage ( try swapping the zones to test ).

Hi Chris a short update everything seems to be running well now no issues for last 2 weeks. I could not find any blockages all the drippers and single sprayer were working ok. What seemed to work was adding an extra 180 sprayer. Perhaps this released the blockage or gave a pressure release as i have a small greenhouse maybe there was to much pressure built up with only drippers ? I added this incase other people have similar issues they could try this option ?
Kind regards
Ian
