Hello. I have a solar panel connected to my WaterMate unit.
Also I have a safe 24 VAC ( transformer 230V/24V 100W ) in my greenhouse, which I use for 12-24 VAC LED lights ( 20 W ).
When/if the solar power will not be enough for watering, I intend to make and use a power supply from 24 VAC to DC, instead of solar panel. So I would like to know what is allowed DC voltage range of solar input? 20 Volts or more?
Hi there
You can use anything up to 22V DC for the solar input. It's limited to 1amp on the recent models, and 500mA on earlier models of control unit. Charging will start around 18V.
