Hi
It seems my system has stopped watering. Looking at the logs it reporting battery critical and therefore not able to water anything. The logs have been reporting battery critical for a few days.
I am wondering if in the hot weather has affected the battery or the solar panel. Anything I can do to test these?
Your solar panel is showing as working, but your battery has not shown fully charged since at least the start of July, so it's not the hot weather ( though for others reading this, the system won't charge when the control unit internal temperature is over 40C to preserve the battery chemistry )
Have you got the standard 10W panel ( you should do we have been since at least 2022/2023 I think )? If so, is there a way you can position it better?
Make sure your solar panel is outside the greenhouse/polytunnel.
Otherwise, you can pick up a trickle charger from us to give your battery a good boost to full from time to time and the solar panel will keep it going in the meantime. Standard situations with a good view of the sky will manage 100% on the solar panel.
