Insecure Wifi SSID

I've got an H-mini and it's all working fine.

Is anyone else concerned that even though it's connected to my home wifi, the system still has it's own insecure wifi access point available for connection or is it just me?

It would be far more sensible for that wifi link to only be available for configuration and for it to be switched off once the system is connected, using a password, to another wifi SSID.

Currently it just seems as if it's an open door for malicious behaviour, someone could just connect a take over the device, not a good look!

I would like to be able to turn it off and then have a factory reset option, something like, turn it on with the button pressed, or something!

What do others think?

Hi - thanks for the feedback!

Our latest version of firmware across other Harvst devices does a very similar thing. We haven't rolled it out to the H-mini yet, but that's going to be happening very soon. I'll update here when the firmware is available.

Apologies for the delay, been away.

That's great news, thank you!

Look forward to it being deployed!

Hello Guys

My Sprout S8 has the firmware: 2024092501

I already have the option in the settings to set an SSID password, but unfortunately saving the configuration does not work. At least it has no effect, in the form field the password persists. But the Wifi remains public :-(

Already tried to reboot it several times. Factory reset did not work. Pushing the button for 15 secs did not factory reset it.

Does anyone have an idea what could help? Its really bad to have it unprotected since it would be so easy to manipulate my device.

Thanks!

Hi All. I've got a H-series and appreciate you can enter a password against the Device WIFI to protect it. Could there also be a way to turn the device WiFi off once it's connected to my home WiFi? My issue is that the device WiFi is interfering with my home WiFi causing other devices to disconnect from my home access points.

Hi both
We hope to be able to get both these looked at shortly.
1. If a bug, fix the S8 firmware. We'll want to update your S8 to the latest version first to confirm it first.
2. Find a way to turn off H-mini wifi once you have configured it.
