We get asked this question frequently. The solar powered greenhouses are self sufficient, powering everything from a built in battery and a little solar panel. The mains powered 4-season models use more power, if you plug in lights and heating.
With a full complement of lights and heating, the system uses up to 150 Watts. However, you won't usually be running it all-on all the time, so let's say it varies between 50W and 120W throughout a winter day. That's about the same as a fridge, which, at an electricity cost of 0.15p/kWh is between 0.5p and 2p per hour.
In the summer, and on sunny winter days, it will use almost no power at all. On average, throughout the year, we calculate that the greenhouse will use around 20W, around 0.5p an hour or 10-12p per day.
