We are this year planning to experiment with one 10M long by 1M wide bed , with a mixture of veg in it.
I have set up a mix of misters and drippers for that bed. Does any one have any advice about how long and how often we should set our system to operate.
Hi John - I run my misters for 60 seconds in the evening, plus another 60 seconds if it's been over 30 degrees in the polytunnel for 4 hours which covers the extra that the plants are drinking. I have a lot of drippers on the second zone, so that takes a while to prime / get up to pressure ... so I run it for 120 seconds.
The best thing to do is try something and watch it for a few days to see how damp the soil is getting when left to the automated system.
