After a successful season I am ready to put my greenhouse to bed for the winter months - at least in terms of irrigation. Can you advise whether I should remove my Watermate mini pump from the water barrel until next season or leave it in situ. Are there other maintenance tasks that I should carry out?
The set up has worked really well throughout the summer - what a super system!
I'd also like a guide on cleaning the irrigation system for my S8, pump to drippers. Do I need to take it all apart to clean it? Drain it? What should I use to ensure nothing harmful is left in the system? How to deal with algae in the tank?
We don't have any specific guidance for cleaning the S8. I would recommend taking the connections apart to give it a through clean and allowing the system to dry if it is not in use.
I've taken all the drippers apart, cleaned them and blown through the pipes to clear any remaining water. Pump taken inside for winter just in case there is any water still in that. Water container scrubbed out and treated with diluted algaecide.
Is there a plug cover for the controller pump connections? I've put some electrical tape over it for now.
